A female Olympic athlete from Jamaica and 5 other family members and friends in her vehicle were involved in a multi-car motor vehicle crash in Broward County resulting from debris left on the highway causing a multi-car crash. The athlete and various family members suffered injuries, including injuries including herniations that required lower back surgery. Other members of the family, including the athlete’s young niece, also sustained severe injuries.
